How to Solve Printable Killer Sudoku

Killer Sudoku introduces dotted-line cages containing a small number in the top-left corner. Every cage must sum to that exact target value, without any repeated digits inside the cage:

  • The 45-Rule: Every row, column, and 3x3 box totals exactly 45 (1 + 2 + ... + 9). If four cages inside a box sum to 41, the remaining cell must equal 4 (45 - 41).
  • Unique Cage Combinations: A 2-cell cage summing to 3 is always {1, 2}. A 2-cell cage summing to 17 is always {8, 9}. A 3-cell cage summing to 6 is always {1, 2, 3}.
  • Pencil-and-paper hygiene: Write the cage combinations in the margin first before inking candidate digits inside cells.
